Recenty we returned from Guatemala. I had organized a group of adoptive families to go and work on what will become a Children's Village in Parramos, outside of Antigua. I thought you might like to see a little of what we did and what we saw.
Our work crew at Parrmos- we painted and planted.

Typical kitchen. We'd just given presents to the little girl- we'd not know the little boys would be there.
The Democratic State Convention was held in Fort Worth, and our family attended, riding up and back on AMTRAK, which we enjoyed immensely.

We attended the Opening reception, at which each of the candidates was introduced and said a few words.
On Friday and Saturday, my husband and I divided up and attended several caucuses. He attended ones on stem cell research and technology. I attended the Texas Freedom Network seminar and the Stonewall Democrats' caucus, as well as "stuck my head in" a number of other ones.
Friday afternoon, I attended the SD 25 meeting, at which I spoke. Friday night, we heard Wes Clark's keynote speech, I was introduced on state with the Democratic Senate Delegation, then heard our next governor, Chris Bell's speech, and let the Convention Center with hope in our hearts.

Saturday, the convention started off with the Blue Star breakfast, which was very well attended, and then the convention started at 11 with speeches from the rest of our statewide candidates. David Van Os and Hank Gilbert had the crowd cheering and truly excited about the possibilities.
We enjoyed being around so many great Democrats from all over the state- around 6,000 were there to work on bring democracy back to our state and to bring our vision of a better Texas to our state.
Here are a few photos from the convention- enjoy!
